Strength is not about being hard. It is about being rooted. Dorothy Rose Tyler spent her life on a farm. She understood the difference between force and foundation. A tree that survives a storm does not survive because it is rigid. It survives because its roots go deep. Strength, the kind that lasts, comes from knowing who you are, what you stand for, and what you will not compromise. That is what today is about.
You are stronger than you present yourself to be. Most people are. We minimize our own capacity because we have been taught that claiming strength is arrogance. It is not. Knowing your strength is wisdom. Today, stop minimizing. Name what you are actually capable of.
Not busywork. Something that actually costs you something, time, energy, discomfort, courage. Something that requires you to draw on your actual capacity. It can be physical. It can be a conversation you have been avoiding. It can be starting something you have been putting off. Do it. Notice the strength it takes. Notice that you have it.
Help others. Keep busy.
